The Palmer Trinity Falcons will take on the Miami Country Day Spartans in a tournament on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Palmer Trinity made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Palmetto, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went Palmer Trinity's way against Palmetto on Thursday as Palmer Trinity made off with a 12-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Emily 'Emmy' Cerda made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Kinsey Cerda was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Mela Fajardo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Palmer Trinity was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palmetto only posted a batting average of .167.
Meanwhile, Miami Country Day put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Marathon as Miami Country Day made off with an 11-1 victory.
Like Palmer Trinity, Miami Country Day also got a great game from a two-way player: Collins Ames. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 15 over six innings pitched. Ames has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Eryn Mayo was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Maggie Houser, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four RBI and one double.
Palmer Trinity pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Miami Country Day, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
Wednesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Palmer Trinity has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .466. However, it's not like Miami Country Day struggles in that department as they've averaged .544. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
