Freedom is 9-1 against Fox Valley Lutheran since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Irish will square off against the Foxes at 4:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Freedom comes in on four and Fox Valley Lutheran on three.
On Thursday, Freedom got the win against Clintonville by a conclusive 12-2. That's two games straight that the Irish have won by exactly ten runs.
The team relied heavily on Claire Murphy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those hits marked the first that she has got this season. Kourtney Moeller was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Freedom kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Fox Valley Lutheran made easy work of Little Chute on Tuesday and carried off a 19-2 win. Fans of the Foxes have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Paige Leavitt looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Nora Probst was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Dahlke, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Fox Valley Lutheran pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Freedom, their record is now 4-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Freedom has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fox Valley Lutheran struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Freedom skirted past Fox Valley Lutheran 2-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Irish have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Foxes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
