Basketball Recap: Amaar Ibrahim's Big Game Can't Quite Lead MCC over Taft

If MCC was feeling good fresh off their 68-46 takedown of Islamic Foundation last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The MCC Crescents took a 60-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Taft Eagles on Saturday.

MCC's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amaar Ibrahim, who posted 13 points and five assists. That's the most assists Ibrahim has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Zayd Ibrahim, who earned 13 points.

MCC's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Taft, their win bumped their record up to 9-17.

MCC will face off against Hinsdale Adventist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Taft, they will host Niles West at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
