Last Thursday, Sunshine Bible Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 66-61 to Iroquois/Lake Preston.
Despite the loss, Sunshine Bible Academy got a solid performance out of Trey Thieman, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thieman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Kalacinski, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Sunshine Bible Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Wolsey-Wessington strolled past James Valley Christian with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 64-49.
Sunshine Bible Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Wolsey-Wessington, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Sunshine Bible Academy was dealt a bruising 54-22 defeat at the hands of Wolsey-Wessington when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Sunshine Bible Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
