It was a good run, but The Jordan Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were beaten by Long Beach Poly 56-14. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jordan in their matchups with Long Beach Poly: they've now lost nine in a row.
Jarret Nielsen threw for 95 yards and a touchdown. Jordan Washington was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Darius Curry was his usual excellent self, throwing for 339 yards and seven touchdowns. Curry is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Powell, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Jordan's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 7-3. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Long Beach Poly, Lakewood, and Millikan. As for Long Beach Poly, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Jordan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Long Beach Poly also has no future games currently scheduled.
