It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but The Shadow Creek Sharks ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 25-23 victory over Dawson. The victory was nothing new for Shadow Creek as they're now sitting on four straight.
Among those leading the charge was Cobey Sellers, who threw for 140 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes. Chris Stewart also helped out with an impressive 95 receiving yards.
Despite the loss, Dawson still got an impressive performance from Gage Greene, who threw for 100 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Shadow Creek's victory was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.1 points per game. As for Dawson, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4.
Shadow Creek will take on Alief Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alief Taylor will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 488th, while Shadow Creek is ranked 72nd). As for Dawson, they will head out on the road to face off against Alief Elsik at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
