The Wilson Wildcats were the 80-68 winner over the Rowland Raiders when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Wilson took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rowland on Tuesday. Wilson has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Wilson saw an underclassman step up: Justin Kayode scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Ryan Lin, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Wilson bumped their record down to 12-11 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Rowland, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilson will face off against Walnut at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Walnut presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wilson in California (Walnut is ranked 273rd, while Wilson is ranked 615th). As for Rowland, they will head out on the road to square off against Diamond Bar at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Diamond Bar will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
