Austin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jill Shirk, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 4 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Shirk has scored at least 25% of Austin's points. Angelina Gomez was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with 5 assists.
Austin pushed their record up to 5-11 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Dripping Springs, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Austin will take on Steele at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Steele presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Austin in Texas (Steele is ranked 108th, while Austin is ranked 795th).
