Baseball Recap: Tonopah Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Tonopah won the last time they faced Mountain View Christian and things went their way on Friday too. Tonopah blew past Mountain View Christian 17-1. Considering the Muckers have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Tonopah got a massive performance out of Brekken Miller, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Miller is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Harhay, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.

Tonopah always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive games.

Tonopah's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Mountain View Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tonopah will head out to challenge Lone Pine at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mountain View Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Pahranagat Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
