The Central Valley Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Ceres, falling 68-41. Central Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ceres apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Central Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Andre Flores. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds. Flores has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Robbie Singh, who scored 10 points.
Ceres' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carey Mastin, who scored 15 points along with 6 assists and 4 steals. Mastin is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Gurman Dhaliwal was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 8 rebounds.
Central Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Ceres, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Valley will take on East Union at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ceres, they will be playing at home against Hilmar at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
