The Mount Pisgah Christian Patriots were the 38-27 winner over the Mount Vernon Mustangs when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Mount Pisgah Christian had to suffer through a rough 49-7 loss at the hands of Mount Vernon. Mount Pisgah Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ryan Dean threw for 82 yards and a touchdown. Geno Houchins was his top target, picking up 48 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Walker Warshaw had a dynamite game for Mount Vernon, rushing for 249 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.8 yards per carry. Sam Nazarian was another key contributor, throwing for 166 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes.
Mount Pisgah Christian has fallen quite a ways from their 9-4 record last season and are now at 3-5. As for Mount Vernon, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
Mount Pisgah Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Francis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Francis is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Mount Vernon, they will head out on the road to face off against Whitefield Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
