AAA District 14 recap Oct. 3, 2012
Bolton made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,905 from 4,018. The improvement came about via a 41-6 victory over Bartlett last week.
The Wildcats' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kal Granderson threw for 54 and one touchdown and Austin Westmoreland had 53 yards receiving. On the ground Brandon Henderson chipped in 145 yards. Granderson helped Bolton's passing attack out by catching one ball for three yards.
Tavon Banks made the biggest impact on defense this week as Bolton beat the Panthers. The 5-foot-8 defensive lineman grabbed three sacks.
Arlington's Drew Reed and Justin Boring have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading AAA District 14 in both passing and receiving yards. Reed has thrown for 1470 yards this season, while Boring has 42 catches for 691 yards. Henderson from Tommy Miller's team leads the league in rushing with 738 yards.
The Wildcats led the league in scoring this week after putting up 41 points on Bartlett. Henderson in the win.
