Jefferson is 1-7 against Kimball since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Jefferson Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Kimball Knights at 7:30 p.m. Jefferson is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 78-48, which was the final score in Jefferson's tilt against Hillcrest on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Jefferson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1351st, while Hillcrest is ranked 502nd).
Meanwhile, Kimball put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 92-67 margin over Wilson. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kimball to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaylon Dean-vines, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Lance Carr, who scored 16 points along with three steals and two blocks.
Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Kimball, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 18-12 record this season.
Jefferson took a serious blow against Kimball when the teams last played back in January, falling 66-24. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Kimball's Rico Aguilar, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
