Basketball Recap: Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy easily dispatched Westminster Christian Academy last Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Eagles fell just short of the Priceville Bulldogs by a score of 46-43 on Monday.

When it comes to explaining why Decatur Heritage Christian Academy lost, don't look at Genie Mcghee. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten steals. Mcghee has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 39 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Troupe, who posted eight points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Decatur Heritage Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-7. As for Priceville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Priceville (ranked 37th) will meet West Morgan (ranked 131st) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Decatur Heritage Christian Academy is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
