Missouri River Valley - East recap Oct. 16, 2012
Richmond moved up to 139 from 169 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Missouri River Valley - East. The Spartans were able to make the jump by besting Knob Noster 41-12.
Lafayette County extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Lexington, 48-7. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Huskers.
Holden's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jeff Miller threw for 34 yards and Matt Borgen had 27 yards receiving. On the ground Max Mickey chipped in 122 yards. Jakob Sadey helped Holden's passing attack out by catching one ball for 11 yards.
Holden's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Miller has thrown for 376 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Austin Tevis has nine catches for 141 yards. Mickey leads the league in rushing with 1799 yards.
A big matchup in Missouri River Valley - East this week will be when the Panthers take on the Eagles. Knob Noster is currently in third, while Holden is in second.
Lafayette County led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on the Minutemen.
