On Tuesday, North Cross earned a 79-69 win over Carlisle. The victory was just what North Cross needed coming off of a 88-34 loss in their prior match.
North Cross' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Antonio Mack, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds, and Jesiah Hines, who scored 28 points along with five rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Mack pulled down eight or more rebounds. Tristan Lange was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hargrave Military Academy entered their tilt with Roanoke Catholic with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Hargrave Military Academy came out on top against Roanoke Catholic by a score of 78-69 on Tuesday. Given Hargrave Military Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while Roanoke Catholic is ranked 225th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
North Cross' victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-12. As for Hargrave Military Academy, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6.
