Lake Braddock had won ten straight at home dating back to last season, but  on Friday they bumped up to 5-0 to make it 11. They managed  a  29-23 win over the Westfield Bulldogs. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Braddock to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Payton Holmes, who rushed for 87 yards and two  touchdowns. Tyrone Jackson was another key signal caller, throwing for 215 yards and a pair of  TDs.
As for Westfield,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 3-2. Their recent woes sure aren't a result of their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 5.45 yards per carry in those games compared to only 2.27 in the others.
 Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   PJ Sutherland, who rushed for 116 yards.  Malachi Lee was in the mix  as well, providing Westfield with two scores.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Braddock will welcome Woodson  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Bruins will be up against the Cavaliers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.8  points per  game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Westfield, they will be playing at home against James Madison  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Warhawks' defense has only allowed 12.8  points per game  this season, so the Bulldogs' offense will have their work cut out for them.
