The Woodstock Wolverines lost against the Creekview Grizzlies back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Woodstock was beaten by Creekview 35-3. Woodstock has struggled against Creekview recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Peyton Lynch threw for 185 yards on 18 of 32 attempts. Chase Colina was his top target, picking up 121 receiving yards. On the ground, Isaiah Payton rushed for 89 yards.
It was another big night for Austin Guest, who threw for 151 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes. Jackson Stanley also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Woodstock's defeat was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.6 points per game. As for Creekview, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodstock will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Sequoyah at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. As for Creekview, they will be playing at home against Rome at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Rome is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
