Westhill is 2-8 against Marcellus since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Warriors will look to defend their home field against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
If Westhill beats Marcellus with 20 runs on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Warriors blew past Cortland 20-1 on Tuesday. The Warriors have beaten the Purple Tigers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Purple Tigers has come to flipping the script.

Samantha Snyder made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sydney Medeiros was incredible, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Adi Kohanski, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four RBI and two runs.
Westhill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .644. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Marcellus never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Mexico. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.
Like Westhill, Marcellus also got a great game from a two-way player: Kendall LaManche. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. LaManche was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mariah Kolm, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Carly Sears was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.
Marcellus' win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Westhill, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Westhill hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .331. However, it's not like Marcellus struggles in that department as they've averaged .339. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Westhill came up short against Marcellus in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 5-1. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
