The Thrasher Rebels will challenge the Mantachie Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Thrasher made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Potts Camp, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Thrasher put the hurt on Potts Camp with a sharp 15-4 win on Friday. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Rebels this season.

Ryan Tate made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Thrasher is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-3 otherwise. Tate was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Thrasher got a big performance out of Hayden Hopkins, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Hunter Pace was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Thrasher always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Mantachie came into Monday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Biggersville by a score of 8-4 on Monday.
Hayden Estes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.
At the plate, Hudson Trulove was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Baxter, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Thrasher's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Mantachie, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.
Thrasher came out on top in a nail-biter against Mantachie in their previous meeting back in March of 2018, sneaking past 5-4. Will Thrasher repeat their success, or does Mantachie have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
