The IC Catholic Prep Knights will face off against the St. Laurence Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. IC Catholic Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully St. Laurence likes a good challenge.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but IC Catholic Prep had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 35-7 victory over Boylan Catholic on the road. The result was nothing new for IC Catholic Prep, who have now won seven matches by 23 points or more so far this season.
IC Catholic Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dennis Mandala led the charge by throwing for 190 yards and two touchdowns on only 18 passes. KJ Parker was in the mix as well, providing IC Catholic Prep with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, St. Laurence earned a 31-21 win over Dixon on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for St. Laurence.
Their wins bumped IC Catholic Prep to 9-2 and St. Laurence to 8-3.
IC Catholic Prep couldn't quite finish off St. Laurence in their previous matchup back in September of 2017 and fell 26-23. Can IC Catholic Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
