The Desert Vista Thunder had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 64.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They came out on top against Grandview by a score of 60-47.
Desert Vista got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dylan Swindle out in front who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The matchup was Swindle's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Trinity Jones was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with four steals.
Desert Vista's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Grandview, they have fallen quite a ways from their 19-9 record last season and are now at 2-4.
Desert Vista's road trip will continue as they head out to face St. Mary's at 3:00 p.m. on December 19th. St. Mary's will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. Grandview won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mission Hills at 9:30 a.m. on December 19th. Mission Hills will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 100th in California, while Grandview is ranked 26th in Colorado).
