Even though Merrol Hyde Magnet has not done well against Jo Byrns recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Merrol Hyde Magnet had just enough and edged Jo Byrns out 40-37. The win was just what Merrol Hyde Magnet needed coming off of a 64-37 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, University School of Nashville strolled past Tennessee Heat with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 47-33. The win was just what University School of Nashville needed coming off of a 60-22 defeat in their prior match.
University School of Nashville's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kate Vaughn, who scored 15 points, and Uma Peters, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tessa Chomsky, who scored 5 points.
The losses dropped Merrol Hyde Magnet to 1-6 and Jo Byrns to 1-5.
