Edcouch-Elsa has gone 9-1 against Porter recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. Edcouch-Elsa barely beat Donna the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Edcouch-Elsa never let Donna get on the board and left with a 14-0 win on Friday. Mila Pedraza and Melody Soto were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Pedraza tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Soto pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Pedraza gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in February. At the plate, Pedraza scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3, while Soto scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave Pedraza a new career-high.
In other batting news, Christa Lopez was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Mariah Sandoval was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
Edcouch-Elsa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Donna only posted an OBP of .188.
Meanwhile, Porter has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.3 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They lost 14-0 to Harlingen South. The Cowboys haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Edcouch-Elsa moved to 11-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Porter, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
