Basketball Game Preview: Flowing Wells Caballeros vs. Buena Colts

Flowing Wells has gone 6-1 against Buena recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Flowing Wells Caballeros are taking a road trip to square off against the Buena Colts at 7:00 p.m. Flowing Wells is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.5 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Flowing Wells earned a 60-49 win over Cienega. The Caballeros pushed the score to 60-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bobcats cut but never quite recovered from.

Nevaeh Urenda continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 11 for 27 on her way to 25 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 23 times she's played. Allison Verdugo was another key player, putting up eight points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Flowing Wells was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Buena came up short against Amphitheater on Friday and fell 44-32.

Flowing Wells is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.9 points per game. As for Buena, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Flowing Wells didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Buena when the teams last played back in December of 2021, but they still walked away with a 61-56 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Flowing Wells since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
