Basketball Recap: Cuthbertson's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Cuthbertson came into Tuesday's match having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victor by a 51-31 margin over the West Mecklenburg Hawks on Tuesday. The Cavaliers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Cuthbertson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Amayah Rogers out in front who went 10 for 15 on her way to 23 points. Rogers' evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Riley Howell was another key player, going 6 for 11 on her way to 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Cuthbertson's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for West Mecklenburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Cuthbertson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-31 loss against Hough on the 12th. As for West Mecklenburg, they will challenge Berry at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Mecklenburg is facing Berry at the right time seeing as Berry is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
