Basketball Game Preview: Bridges Prep Buccaneers vs. Cross Stingrays

The Bridges Prep Buccaneers will head out to take on the Cross Stingrays at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Last Tuesday, Bridges Prep ended up a good deal behind Whale Branch and lost 55-39. The loss continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost three in a row.

Bridges Prep's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Addie Taylor, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, and Raelynn Reeves, who posted eight points. Taylor has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times she's played.

Meanwhile, Cross didn't have too much trouble with Andrew Jackson Academy on Friday as they won 50-35. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Stingrays.

Cross' win came from a few key players Bridges Prep will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Sydney Hollings, who earned 11 points along with seven assists and four steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Ryan Mayers, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards.

Cross pushed their record up to 8-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Bridges Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
