Cedartown has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the North Oconee Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cedartown walked away with it. They took down Holy Innocents Episcopal 21-7 on Saturday.
Cedartown can attribute much of their success to Juelz Davis, who rushed for 145 yards on only 15 carries. Davis was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 58 yards.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Cedartown's defense and their six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Grant Kirkpatrick and Maleek Frederick who racked up 4.5 sacks between them.
Meanwhile, North Oconee put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Pace Academy 52-13 at home. The win was just business as usual for North Oconee, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Cedartown has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 8-3 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.5 points per game. As for North Oconee, their victory bumped their record up to 11-0.
Cedartown beat North Oconee 28-20 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Will Cedartown repeat their success, or does North Oconee have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
