It was a good run, but the La Marque Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Brazosport on the road and fell 81-23. While losing is never fun, La Marque can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1349th, while Brazosport is ranked 411th).
Brazosport's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nadia Ewells, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The match was Ewells' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Londyn Brown, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.
La Marque's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Brazosport, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3.
