Warsaw has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Ben Davis Giants at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Warsaw's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
Warsaw has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 21 points or more this season. They blew past NorthWood 66-29 at home. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 10 to 3 on the offensive boards, as Warsaw did.
Warsaw found their leader in underclassman Joslyn Bricker, who scored 26 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds. The matchup was Bricker's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Brooke Zartman was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Ben Davis earned a 56-48 win over Cathedral on Tuesday. The win was just what Ben Davis needed coming off of a 60-30 loss in their prior matchup.
Ben Davis can attribute much of their success to Zoe Wheeler, who scored 21 points along with 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aleia Sultzer, who scored 12 points.
Their wins bumped Warsaw to 5-2 and NorthWood to 3-2.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's match: Warsaw have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having averaged 10.7 threes per game. It's a different story for Ben Davis, though, as they've been averaging only 6 per game. Given Warsaw's sizeable advantage in that area, Ben Davis will need to find a way to close that gap. Warsaw was able to grind out a solid win over Ben Davis when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 60-50.
