Basketball Recap: Neumann Regional Academy Comes Up Short

Neumann Regional Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 61-54 to the Muncy Indians. If the Golden Knights were looking for revenge after losing 49-48 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Neumann Regional Academy lost, don't look at Andrew Walter. Despite the final result, he posted 20 points. The dominant performance gave Walter a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daiton Thompson, who earned 12 points.

Muncy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nathan Rogers, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 16 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. Rogers is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Stiles Eyer, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards.

Neumann Regional Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Muncy, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Neumann Regional Academy will venture away from home to challenge Bucktail at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Neumann Regional Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season. As for Muncy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Williamsport at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Muncy also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 56 points per game.
