Gallatin County is 0-9 against Oldham County since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Gallatin County Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Oldham County Colonels at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
After soaring to a 29-point victory in their last game, Gallatin County came back down to earth on Saturday. They fell just short of Spencer County by a score of 78-75.
Meanwhile, Oldham County unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 79-70 to Simon Kenton. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Oldham County came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Simon Kenton is ranked 88th).
Gallatin County's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-9. As for Oldham County, their loss dropped their record down to 19-6.
Gallatin County ended up a good deal behind Oldham County when the teams last played back in February of 2023, losing 61-47. Can Gallatin County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
