5A Region II District 10 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Plano West was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to sixth in 5A Region II District 10.
Plano East made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 325 from 402.
Plano's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Richard Lagow threw for 300 and one touchdown and Mitchell Hansen had 194 yards receiving. On the ground Andre Morman chipped in 21 yards.
McKinney's Robert Somborn and Connor Fuentes have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Somborn has thrown for 1365 yards this season, while Fuentes has 30 catches for 494 yards. Bryan Driskell from Boyd leads the league in rushing with 915 yards.
Driskell of the the Broncos is only 85 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Panthers take on Allen. As it stands, Plano East is in first, while the Eagles are in fourth.
The Wildcats suffered the largest drop in the standings this week, falling from sixth to eighth in 5A Region II District 10. The drop came on the heels of a loss to Marcus during the week, 35-21.
