A big part of Palm Beach Lakes' win came down to the chemistry between Julian Ayala (*) and his top target Ryan Ferdinand. Ferdinand's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 102 receiving yards.
Palm Beach Lakes didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Dwyer to a completion percentage of just 41.2%. The team can thank Turmarian Moreland Jr. for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Palm Beach Lakes; they were averaging 58.5%completion percentage earlier this season, but in their last three games they've fallen to only 58.5%.
Palm Beach Lakes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Michael Kelly, Dameicko Gordon, and Rory Butler picked up one apiece. Gordon got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palm Beach Central). They breezed past Palm Beach Gardens to the tune of 48-20 on Friday. The Broncos pushed the score to 48-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Gators cut but never quite recovered from.
Palm Beach Lakes better keep an eye on Chance Routson. He was instrumental in Palm Beach Central's win, rushing for 100 yards and a pair of scores, while also throwing for 48 yards and one touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Those 100 rushing yards gave Routson a new career-high. Palm Beach Central also got help from Jayden St. Fort, who showed off his sure hands for 96 receiving yards.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Palm Beach Central, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Travis Jackson, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Palm Beach Lakes' victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2. As for Palm Beach Central, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4.
Palm Beach Lakes took a serious blow against Palm Beach Central in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 54-6. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Routson, who threw for 273 yards and five TDs while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground.
