Basketball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Midland's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Midland posted their biggest win since November 27th on Saturday. They blew past the Breaux Bridge Tigers 40-15. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Tigers are ranked 307th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Midland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Breaux Bridge, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Midland will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hathaway at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Breaux Bridge and Comeaux will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Comeaux's defense has only allowed 27.4 points per game this season, so Breaux Bridge's offense will have their work cut out for them.
