Terry Sanford has gone a perfect 10-0 against Overhills recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Jack Reaves looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mason Walker, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Gibson Bray was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Terry Sanford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Overhills hadn't done well against Triton recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Darren Ludwick was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That run was his first of the season.
The win made it two in a row for Terry Sanford and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Overhills, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Overhills' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Terry Sanford hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. It's a different story for Overhills, though, as they've only averaged .225. Will they be able to contain Terry Sanford's hitters?
