Volleyball Recap: Fort Payne Gets the Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Fort Payne took on Valley Head on Thursday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 2-0.

Among those leading the charge was Mattie Smith, who had six aces. Those six aces gave her a new career-high.

Smith wasn't the only good servers: Fort Payne was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive matchups.

Fort Payne's win bumped their record up to 39-13. As for Valley Head, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Fort Payne has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Sylvania on the 9th. As for Valley Head, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Plainview on the 11th.
