The Hubbard Greyhounds will head out on the road to take on the Brother Rice Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Hubbard turned things around against Juarez on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Eagles. The Greyhounds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Ricardo Romo and Thiago Monarrez made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Romo pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Monarrez struck out 14 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At bat, Romo went 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Monarrez went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Hubbard is 4-1 when Monarrez posts two or more runs, but 8-10-1 otherwise.
In other batting news, Jaden Rodriguez was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Serafin Millan, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Hubbard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Juarez only posted an OBP of .367.
Brother Rice came out on top against Maine South on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Crusaders skirted past the Hawks 4-2. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won six in a row.
Brayden McKendrick tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gavin Triezenberg, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Nohava, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Brother Rice's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 31-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hubbard, they now have a winning record of 12-11-1.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hubbard has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .510. However, it's not like Brother Rice struggles in that department as they've averaged .482. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
