Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Twin Peaks Charter Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Angel Ortega, who scored nine points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Yannis Diby, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Nederland lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gavin Dillon. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Dillon scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Indio Koonz, who scored ten points.
Twin Peaks Charter Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Nederland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Twin Peaks Charter Academy's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Poudre Community Academy at 6:15 p.m. on January 19th. Nederland will take on Weldon Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Weldon Valley comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
