Flanagan has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Western Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Flanagan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
Last Friday, Flanagan really took it to Plantation for the full four quarters, racking up a 50-21 win at home. With Flanagan ahead 37-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Flanagan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was D?Naela Myers, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds. Myers is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Charlize Coats was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Western put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Dillard by a score of 46-39. Given Western's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Dillard is ranked 79th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Flanagan now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Western, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
Flanagan might still be hurting after the 62-36 loss they got from Western when the teams last played back in February of 2021. Can Flanagan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
