The Verona Wildcats lost against the Marionville Comets back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Verona was outmatched by Marionville on the road and fell 78-20. Verona has not had much luck with Marionville recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marionville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dally Pomeroy, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Pomeroy is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Maggie Murphy, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals.
Verona's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Marionville, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Verona will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Seneca at 6:00 p.m. Seneca is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Marionville, they will head out on the road to face off against Hurley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
