Maroa-Forsyth had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt St. Teresa on Monday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 8-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Maroa-Forsyth got a great performance from Jacy Ravenscraft as she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maggie Ravenscraft, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Taylor Crouch, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Pleasant Plains entered their matchup against Sacred Heart-Griffin on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Cardinals fell just short of the Cyclones by a score of 5-4. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Delaney Murphy made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Maroa-Forsyth's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Pleasant Plains, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2-1.
