Pueblo East is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Pueblo Centennial a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Pueblo East Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Pueblo East has given up an average of 9.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Pueblo East was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Doherty on Saturday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 17-11 margin over the Spartans. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Luciana Cervantes made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple.
In other batting news, Emilee Hutchings was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Ana Gonzales, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Pueblo East kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Pueblo Centennial came up short against Pueblo West on Monday, falling 16-2.
Pueblo Centennial saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karley Zamarripa, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Tommilynn Cruz also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
The victory got Pueblo East back to even at 11-11. As for Pueblo Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Pueblo East has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .484. However, it's not like Pueblo Centennial struggles in that department as they've averaged .449. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
