Vista Murrieta (Murrieta, Calif.) snapped
Norco (Calif.)'s 4-game winning streak, with a 31-16 victory on Saturday.
The Broncos were up 21-8 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Kishawn Holmes in the second quarter.
Vista Murrieta expanded its lead to 16 points entering the fourth quarter. VM's lone score in the quarter came on a field goal by
Aaron Ruth.
With the win the Murrieta school extended its winning streak to 12 games. The Broncos defeated the Huskies 34-6 last week.
Vista Murrieta's standout player in the win was Ruth. The junior kicked one field goal and four extra points.
VM had given up an average of 10.5 points prior to the contest. The Cougars' 16 points were well below their season average of 32.8 per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Norco, which notched a 50-22 victory over Redlands East Valley in its previous outing.
