The Middletown Middies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 31-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oak Hills. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Middletown has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Middletown lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jamia Jones. Despite the final result, she scored ten points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Jones grabbed two or more steals.
Oak Hills found their leader in underclassman Ava Kammerer, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kammerer has scored at least a third of Oak Hills' points.
Middletown has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Oak Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Lakota East the next time they take the court. Middletown will host Lakota East at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Oak Hills will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
