Bedford Academy will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Summit Academy Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on January 18th. Bedford Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Summit Academy is ranked 87th).
Last Thursday, Bedford Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Transit Tech, but they still walked away with a 33-28 victory.
Meanwhile, Summit Academy waltzed into their matchup on Monday with five straight wins but they left with six. They snuck past Poly Prep Country Day with a 46-42 win.
Summit Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mariyha Boston out in front who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Boston is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Chloe Freeman, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Bedford Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Summit Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.
