The Madison Mavericks had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down SA Roosevelt 56-37 on Friday. The victory was just what Madison needed coming off of a 58-36 loss in their prior game.
Nadia Bailey was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Yazmin Torrez was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Madison's victory bumped their record up to 13-18. As for SA Roosevelt, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 17 of their last 19 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-22 record this season.
Madison on the road again on Tuesday and play against Brandeis at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. The timing is sure in Brandeis' favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while Madison has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. SA Roosevelt will take on Johnson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully SA Roosevelt likes a good challenge.
