Despite the defeat, Kingsway Christian saw an underclassman step up: Taylor Bischoff scored 12 points. Bischoff scored a full 50% of Kingsway Christian's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Kingsway Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only a assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Christian Community racked up 14.
Christian Community can attribute much of their success to Anna Blumfeldt, who scored 15 points along with 6 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Blumfeldt has scored at least 25% of Christian Community's points. Sarah Solak was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 4 steals.
Kingsway Christian still hasn't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.3 points per game. As for Christian Community, their win bumped their record up to 1-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kingsway Christian will take on Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
