Eastern got themselves on the board against Federal Hocking on Tuesday, but Federal Hocking never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp 26-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won six in a row.

Mason Shepherd made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ayden Wilhelm was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ethan Edwards, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Eastern kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive matchups.

Eastern's record is now 11-2. As for Federal Hocking, they are on a 32-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern will head out to face off against Belpre at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Federal Hocking, they will venture away from home to take on Nelsonville-York at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
