While Eminence's victory against Providence Cristo Rey wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eels narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wolves 10-9. The victory continues a trend for the Eels in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won five in a row.

Lucien Beam was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, James Belcher and Dylan Hamblen did most of the damage at the plate: Belcher went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Hamblen went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Hamblen has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Johnathan Myers, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Eminence's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Providence Cristo Rey, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eminence will host Monrovia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Providence Cristo Rey, they will be playing at home against Indianapolis Shortridge at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
